At first a bit daunting, but some time and practice will save you in the long run

Home entertainment systems have become increasingly more sophisticated since the advent of HDTV, which is now available for your boat from a variety of marine satellite manufacturers.

For this My Boat DIY install, we selected a brand-new system from Intellian’s range of marine satellite systems capable of receiving both standard definition and high definition television signals.

As luck would have it, rain hit us on project day, but the good folks at Bay Port Yachting Centre (a large Intellian dealer) had our project boat out of the water and indoors in no time so we could work in comfort.

As our project boat was a Sea Ray 340 Sundancer, the satellite antenna would naturally be installed on the radar arch to make sure it had a clear view of the horizon and transmitting satellite. This particular boat already had a radar array, so we had to order an antenna stand-off to ensure the satellite antenna was above the radar radome.
