Recipe: Ham & Cheese Bites

Easy apps for quick entertaining

By Katherine Minton & Amanda Comission

When sandwiches just won’t do, this is a great finger food that kids adore (especially when served with ketchup for dipping). Just be careful about the Cayenne – even with the minimal amount this recipe calls for, these bites have… well, BITE! Makes about 30 balls.

Ingredients

½ cup     Butter or margarine (warm)
¼ tsp     Ground Cayenne pepper
1 tsp       Paprika or red pepper
1 cup      Flour
2 cups    Cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup      Ham, crumbled

Method

  • Mix butter, Cayenne, paprika and flour.
  • Add cheese and ham, mix well.
  • Mould into bite-size balls.
  • Place on baking sheet and cook at 400°F for roughly 10 minutes.
