Interlux Offers Waterfront Cleanup Project Grants

Deadline to apply is August 31, 2011

June 16, 2011

Interlux is once again encouraging community groups to think about ways to improve the shores of our waterways.

The 2011 Interlux Waterfront Challenge grant will award $50,000 – eight grants ranging from $4,500 to $20,000 – to groups in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Community organizations have until August 31 to apply. The Challenge is designed for any group of three or more people who want to spend a minimum of two days of their lives improving their local waterfront and encouraging others to do the same by showing that all efforts can make a difference.

A judging panel, consisting of five marine industry leaders, will select seven regional winners and a grand prize winner with the help of boaters voting for their favourite projects on Facebook. Grant awards will be made at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
